Racism, discrimination, and intolerance continues to exist in our communities.
In the mainstream media, we are seeing a rise in incidents of verbal abuse and vandalism affecting both newcomers and the local Indigenous communities.
*Trigger Warning* The discrimination and polarizing comments heard at the start of the video are of actual incidences in Canada, in the Thompson-Okanagan – not someone else’s backyard.
We invite you to stand for change against racism and hate and to join in celebrating diversity.
We must work together to correct this behaviour, to educate our children, youth, and ourselves – To create a culture of inclusion in all of our communities throughout the Okanagan.
