Defence Minister Khawaja Asif has said consultations with allies in the ruling coalition on banning the PTI have not been initiated yet, but the will consulted if the need arises to ban the party immediately.
Speaking to the media at Parliament House, he also advised the PTI to form an alternative team for negotiations with the government that may replace the one formed recently in case those included in the latter decided to leave the party.
The defence minister criticised PTI chief Imran Khan for “blaming the army for his arrest”.
“The army had no role in his arrest [and] the Rangers assisted police in arresting him,” he said.
He further stated that PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif “will surely come to Pakistan”.
