In the latest episode of Dof’at Beirut series, Mansoor (played by Saudi actor Muhannad Al-Hamdi) decided to commit suicide as he was climbing down the stairs along with his friends.
He strangled himself with the tie he was wearing, but his friends stopped him and saved his life.
The scene was supposed to be dramatic and sad, but it was transformed into a comedy sketch as social media users started circulating it as a meme.
Some viewers asked the director about what just happened there, and if that scene was really approved by him.
Other commentators said: ‘It’s like me when I ask my parents to buy me something and they refuse,’ ‘they reminded me of that Indian actress who strangled herself with a curtain,’ ‘I swear to God this is the stupidest scene ever. Unbelievable from drama to comedy,’ ‘I thought it was a blooper.’
Muhannad Al-Hamdi also received his share of criticism, as one viewer said: “It seems that they give Muhannad all the scenes that nobody else agrees to do.. such a cold actor.’
